COURSE OBJECTIVES ~ Upon the completion of this course through lecture, discussion and participation, participants should be able to:
Describe and understand the basic physics and history of lasers
Describe the understand soft-tissue lasers, their characteristics, and applications
Understand the clinical benefits of a diode laser and the supporting science
Understand their scope of practice for laser usage
Demonstrate the set up and operation of lasers including delivery systems, maintenance, treatment parameters, and infection control protocol
Demonstrate clinical proficiency using diode lasers
Define safety regulations, biohazards, and precautions regarding lasers​
